PILGRIMAGE TO INDIA IN FEBRUARY 2013!

We are drawn to explore the roots of the yogic traditions we practice and will be taking our first pilgrimage to India’s holiest city, Varanasi, settled on the banks of the Ganges. Famed to be the oldest city in the world, Varanasi is known as the ‘City of Light’. The beloved city of Shiva, the great Yogi, as well as the home of the sage Patanjali, Varanasi is steeped in the traditions of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Tantric Shaivism. Buddhism also takes root in the surrounding region, so from Varanasi we’ll travel south to Bodhgaya and visit Sarnath where the Buddha first taught the dharma. Bodhgaya’s Mahabodhi complex is home to the Bodhi tree where the Buddha found enlightenment, and its grounds welcome thousands of pilgrims, including the Dalai Lama, each year. As the grand finale, we’ll visit the Taj Mahal, known as a symbol of love around the world. All along the way, we will practice hatha (posture), bhakti (devotion), and seva (service) yoga.

We will be in able hands as we open up to this incredible adventure!

Kari will join with Uschi to lead our trip. Each day begins with a yoga sadhana and ends with an evening sangha and meditation. Our intimate group is limited to 10.
